Architectural Photography of a Long Island Home Featuring Custom Millwork and Vaulted Bar Design
This recent shoot for Joseph Pagac Architects brought us into a beautifully crafted Long Island residence, where form and function work seamlessly across each space. The living room was designed with strong architectural symmetry—anchored by a limestone fireplace and flanked by deep-set window bays that not only draw in natural light but also add architectural rhythm to the space. The use of clean millwork, exposed beams, and integrated shelving creates a sense of openness while still maintaining definition between zones.
From a photographer’s perspective, one of the standout elements was the way natural light interacts with the structural lines of the room. The wood ceiling beams offer a visual counterbalance to the crisp white walls, guiding the eye across the space while giving it a warm, grounded feel. Every angle was thoughtfully composed to highlight the architectural proportions and fine detailing—especially the built-ins, transitions between rooms, and subtle depth created by layered wall openings.
We also photographed the upper-level bar area, which features beautifully detailed cabinetry, marble surfaces, and brass fixtures—executed in a way that feels cohesive with the home's overall architecture. The vaulted ceiling with exposed beams adds volume, while the cabinetry and built-ins ground the space. It’s a great example of how Joe integrates utility and elegance into residential architecture, and a reminder of how rewarding it is to collaborate with firms who prioritize craftsmanship in every detail.
